I’m a Former Premier League Star Now Playing with Messi – and Richer Than Him at Just 23

The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner’s net worth is dwarfed by that of a former Premier League striker.

Leonardo Campana’s family are reportedly valued at more than $1billion, which is close to £800m.

Prior to making his loan move to Inter Miami permanent in 2023, he spent three years as a Wolves player.

However, the 23-year-old failed to make a first-team appearance for the club, instead spending time on loan in Portugal and Switzerland.

Since heading to the MLS, though, Campana has scored 23 goals in 65 appearances for Inter Miami.

The Ecuador international is the son of tennis player-turned-politician Pablo Campana.

His dad represented Ecuador at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta before becoming the country’s Minister of Commerce.

Nowadays, the 51-year-old is the CEO and founder of Milenium S.A, a real estate development firm in his homeland.

Campana is also the great-grandson of ex-footballer Gabriel, who won six Ecuadorian league titles in the 1920s.

Meanwhile, his grandmother is one of the most prominent businesswomen in Ecuador.

Isabel Noboa’s business empire spans across agriculture, real estate and tourism according to Latin Trade.

She also studied at Harvard and the University of London.

The family’s valuation is almost double that of Messi’s £515m fortune.

The World Cup winner’s career has seen him pen lucrative contracts with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Miami.

He also has multiple endorsement deals, including a reported £16m-a-year contract with blockchain firm Socios, as well as his own clothing line and a life-long deal with Adidas.
